We work closely with the surgery unit to offer a comprehensive treatment for breast cancer. We perform immediate or delayed breast reconstruction according to each patient´s specific case. We also perform reconstruction for Poland´s syndrome and manage conditions such as gynecomastia.

We host the staff and technology for procedures requiring a high complexity microsurgery technique. Our experienced team can perform free flap procedures to treat trauma and cancer injuries, breast reconstruction, mandibular reconstruction, treatment for burn sequelae, management of brachial plexus lesions and hand surgery. We feature a protocol for congenital or acquired facial palsy offering the most advanced techniques for facial reanimation.

Offers surgical treatment for congenital and acquire conditions for adults as well as children. Our well coordinated and experienced staff is specially trained to treat all forms of cleft lip and/or cleft palate defects in patients of all ages.

Moreover, we are one of the few centers in the country experienced in the complex management of other congenital disorders such as craniosynostosis (anomalous closure of skull sutures), complex congenital and facial clefts and syndromes related to congenital auricular deformities such as microtia, cryptotia, etc.

We also offer orthognathic surgery and facial trauma management through comprehensive treatment of frontal sinus fractures, orbital fractures, nasal–orbital–ethmoidal fractures, malar and middle third of the face fractures, nasal fractures, mandibular fractures and naturally panfacial fractures.

In a combined effort the Hospital Universitario San Ignacio developed an aesthetic surgery program with the Plastic Surgery Service of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana to offer more expertise, safety and support for surgical procedures. All surgeons of the unit are full members of the Colombian Association of Plastic Surgery and the Iberian and Latin American Federation of Plastic Surgery.

This procedure is conducted to remove excess skin and fat from superior as well as inferior eyelids, which give an aging aspect and "tired eyes" aspect. An eyebrow lift may be performed simultaneously.

This surgery consists of a surgical aesthetic improvement of abnormally protruding ears by cartilage and skin resection rendering a permanent result.

This is a corrective procedure to enhance or reduce the shape and contour of the chin to achieve facial proportion. Sometimes it is combined with a rhinoplasty to provide a harmonious balance in patients with a short chin.

Abnormal scars which result uncomfortable and visible may be reduced using various procedures to improve the appearance as they become less evident.

This procedure seeks to enlarge or reduce the size of the breast providing an enhanced natural appearance. Volume augmentation is achieved through prosthetic devices.

This surgery consists of a brow lift and resection of the wrinkles of the forehead and between the eyebrows. It may be combined with other facial rejuvenating procedures.

This surgery helps to reduce the size of the nose, reshape the nose tip, perform a dorsal hump removal and improve the nose tip angle by raising the nose tip, depending on what is indicated in each patient, achieving a more harmonious face.

Removes excess fat in diff erent parts of the body to contour and mold. In some patients it may be combined with other techniques such as abdominal lipectomy to obtain a more adequate aesthetic result.

Enhancement of the buttocks, augmentation and molding the shape and size of the buttocks using specially designed implants for this zone.

Procedure to remove excess abdominal skin and striae, it may be combined with liposuction to enhance body contour.

Aesthetic surgery also addresses bariatric-surgery-related (surgery performed for major weight loss) problems. We are trained to conduct belt lipectomy, thigh and arm lifts, mastopexy and other procedures to re-locate the skin after significant weight loss.
